Jersey Shore Season 3

Jersey Shore Season 3

Well the Jersey Shore drama is back for a 3rd Season. The train wreck that we all love to watch is picking up where it left off with fun times and cat fights.

Sammi Giancola has effectively taken the place of Angelina Pivarnick in the first episode of Jersey Shore Season 3. Sammi might have been hoping to get some sympathy from fans during Jersey Shore Season 3 Episode 1, but it sure didn't work out as she planned. In a single episode she has was the crown of the house's most hated roommate by fans.

Sammi's take on all comers attitude isn't winning over fans who mostly have sided with rookie Jersey Shorer Deena Nicole Cortese who had some interesting first night drunk stunts of her own. Sammi is basically on an island by herself within the house. Can you say outcast?

If Sammi felt alone in the house after the first episode, it won't get much better. MTV confirms during Jersey Shore Season 3 Episode 2 even Ronnie will be leaving his girlfriend's side as he "decides to fraternize with the rest of the household, leaving Sammi feeling left out."

Jersey Shore Season 3 airs Thursdays on MTV at 10PM ET/PT.

Christine Paolilla

Christine Paolilla

In a real life story that played out like a Hollywood teen scream thriller, Christine Paolilla turned on the her friends and slayed them.

No one is quite sure why the former social outcast Christine Paolilla, who was transformed from an ugly duckling into “Miss Irresistible,” turn on the very girls who made her popular?

The incident took place in the afternoon during July 2003, when four recent high school graduates, including Paolilla’s two best friends and the most popular girls in school, Rachael Koloroutis and Tiffany Rowell, were gunned down at Tiffany’s home in a Houston, Texas suburb. Police were baffled by the murders, which were seemingly random. But as police dug deeper into the investigation that dragged on for three years, they discovered that the killer might be closer to home than anyone ever expected.

Christine Paolilla was apprehended San Antonio, Texas, where she had been holed up in a hotel for months using heroin.  She has been convicted of murdering 4 of her friends Marcus Precella, Tiffany Rowell, Adelbert Sanchez and Rachael Koloroutis. Christine Paolilla is in the process of appealing her conviction.

AT&T Gives Away iPhones To Battle Verizon iPhone

AT&T Gives Away iPhones in Battle versus Verizon iPhone

Expecting to lose a significant portion of its market share on the soon coming official announcement by Verizon and Apple that the iPhone will be sold by Verizon, Apple has decided to make the customers decision to stay with AT&T a bit easier by giving away iPhones.

A source close to AT&T says "It's a must have strategy.  For years we have been the exclusive retailer of the iPhone which without coincidence is our best seller.  Our monopoly on the iPhone will soon be over, so we feel the time is right to give current and future AT&T customer a nice incentive to continue with or start using our services."

So far, this gamble is paying off for AT&T.  By giving away iPhones with multi-year contracts will be able to weather the storm of a possible mass exodus of subscribers.

To be noted, the Original iPhone (AT&T version) is a GSM phone and Verizon's iPhone will be CDMA.  These iPhones will not operate on the competitors carrier network due to this technical difference.

AT&T has partnered with Bobbing For Apples for their iPhone Giveaway promotion.  Read more about it here: Apple iPhone 4 Giveaway.

Jim Brown

Jim Brown

James Nathaniel “Jim” Brown former professional football player who has also made his mark as an actor. He is best known for his exceptional and record-setting nine-year career as a running back for the NFL Cleveland Browns from 1957 to 1965. In 2002, he was named by The Sporting News as the greatest professional football player ever.

Jim Brown hasn't made it back to Cotton Bowls very often since he played in the 1957 game, when his Syracuse Orangement were beaten by TCU 28-27. He accepted an invitation to return for this AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic because it will be the 75th.

Brown was one of 19 members of the Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame attending today's Big Play Luncheon at the Hilton Anatole and will participate in the coin flip before Texas A&M plays LSU on Friday night.

Brown’s 1,863 rushing yards in the 1963 season remain a Cleveland franchise record. It is currently the oldest franchise record for rushing yards out of all 32 NFL teams. While others have compiled more prodigious statistics, when viewing Brown’s standing in the game his style of running must be considered along with statistical measures. He was very difficult to tackle (shown by his leading 5.2 yards per carry), often requiring more than one person to bring him down.

Earthquake San Francisco

Earthquake San Francisco

Earthquake shakes San Francisco and the Bay Area

Today, a 4.1 magnitude Earthquake hit San Francisco and was felt in in San Jose as well as the Bay Area. The tremors felt around northern California, while nerve racking to most people, were considered common and routine to the scientist who monitor earthquakes.

The epicenter of today's California earthquake was 13 miles southeast of San Jose's City Hall and occurred at 4:10 p.m. on Friday, within a patch of rocks deep underground near the Calaveras Fault in a remote oak-studded landscape.

"It's not unusual for the Calaveras to have magnitude 4 quakes, which may knock things off shelves but are unlikely to cause any structural damage," said USGS seismologist David Oppenheimer, based in Menlo Park.

No deaths related to this San Fransisco Earthquake have been reported.

Verizon iPhone

Verizon iPhone

Verizon Wireless and Apple have teamed up to rescue the thousands of frustrated AT&T iPhone users that have had to deal with shoddy reception, dropped calls, and unreliable service.  Finally these customers will be able to choose which carrier to use with their iPhone.

According to the report a person familiar with the matter has said that while Apple believes its exclusive relationship with AT&T has been successful, it believes that by opening the iPhone to a second carrier the company will be able to grow sales faster in the U.S.

This will mark the first time U.S. cellular consumers have been able to choose the network that carries their iPhone. While pricing for the Verizon phone is still unknown, it’s clear that with two vendors selling the phone, competition will be fierce. AT&T will likely be handling a surge in cancellations while Verizon needs to assure customers that their network can handle the load which crippled AT&T.

Analysts predict that AT&T will lose between one and three million new subscribers because of the Verizon deal. Toni Sacconaghi, an analyst at Sanford Bernstein, has been quoted by the Wall Street Journal estimating that Verizon may add up to 10 million iPhone customers. This would be a significant boost to the company’s 93 million users.

The Verizon iPhone will operate on Verizon's CDMA technology and will not be compatible with the GSM version of the iPhone that AT&T currently sells.  Current AT&T iPhone users will not be able to use their AT&T iPhones on Verizon but we are confident that there will be special promotional pricing as an incentive to switch networks and purchase the Verizon iPhone.
